Having a dog is wonderful but it can feel like cleaning is a never-ending task, so we reach for anything that can help us, including a variety of different cleaning products. However, there are unseen health hazards to these common household items that are often overlooked.

Hidden Dangers In Our Home

Many cleaning products from shampoo to oven cleaner contain toxic ingredients such as:

Homemade Cleaning Products

The best way to ensure your pet isn’t coming into contact with any harmful chemicals is making your own cleaning products. This is also much cheaper as you will more than likely already have all the ingredients in your kitchen cupboard!

All Purpose Cleaner and Odour Buster

Mix equal parts vinegar and water in a spray bottle to create a fantastic cleaner for your home, from the kitchen sink to the bathroom floor. If you need to remove any odours, leave the mixture on the desired area for 5-10 minutes and then wipe with a clean, dry cloth.

Stain remover

To get rid of any puppy accidents or muddy paw prints, mix one cup of distilled white vinegar, with one cup of water and 2 teaspoons of bi-carb. Shake up the ingredients, and then spray on the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes, and then blot with towels until clean.
